Life Journeys & Experiences
Inspired by History. Powered by Nature. Driven by Freedom.
I see my children running across the hills of Șarișoru Mare, learning that happiness isn’t found in screens, but in the texture of the wood we work together at the treehouse, in the taste of fresh milk, and in the golden light flooding our terrace at sunset. I want to offer my guests more than just a bed in a renovated old house; I want to offer a fragment of this universe. To sit in silence by the wooden tub, gazing at the Călimani Mountains, and feel the world’s rush vanish. To walk with me on unknown paths, in places almost forgotten by the world, where people still greet you with their whole soul.
This is the "Corner of Heaven" I am building. A network of experiences and intimate places where luxury doesn’t mean opulence, but attention to detail, the warmth of a fireplace, a large window facing the forest, and the feeling that, for a few days, you have returned to your true self. It is a project from the soul, for souls who want to become whole again. It is an invitation to see Romania through my eyes—a place where nature, tradition, and the divine meet at every step.
"I want to travel to extraordinary places with my wife and children—to lead them to see and understand the world differently, helping them become kind, just, and wise. Together, we seek to rejoice in what we see, to learn from the people we meet, and to share our light in return. My mission is to make Șărișoru a place where the eye finds joy, the body finds stillness and energy, and the soul is cleansed and uplifted. Every sanctuary we expand and develop shall become a true extension of this vision: warm, intimate homes where man, in deep contact with nature, meets God. This is a project from the soul, for souls."
I see myself driving classic machines—my 1991 Mercedes 190E 2.6—gliding through winding forest passes toward isolated monasteries and natural wonders. We stop at an ancient hermitage, stepping carefully into this sacred space. The monks greet us with smiles, rejoicing to welcome guests from distant lands. We light a candle, say a prayer, and continue exploring a land where time has stood still. Whether on a bike through the Suhard mountains, in a kayak on the Bistrița River, or on horseback as in the old days...
Stay still. Do not make a sound. You are about to experience something spectacular. The roar of a stag, the dance of the mountain grouse, the majestic presence of a brown bear, or the howl of a wolf will awaken the true essence of life within your DNA. Your dormant senses are brought back to life. You feel your breath, your heartbeat... you have reconnected with your true nature. You had forgotten how to live, but here, you do it again. There is no turning back. Your soul will never forget this elevated state. You will return to this feeling, again and again.
Walking into a centuries-old monastery, you feel confused. Have I traveled through time? The frescoes, the ancient walls, and the wisdom of the monks—who seem detached from the modern rush—all tell you that you are where you belong. Their clothing, their speech, and their quiet insight make you believe that time travel is possible here. You no longer feel afraid. You let yourself be embraced by the spirit of the place. You laugh, you cry, you may not understand your emotions, but from the depths of your heart comes a stillness that whispers: "It is well. You have arrived." You have had courage, and life rewards the brave.
The ancestral and the ancient awaken our true nature. We feel the need to discover the connection with what once was—a return to simplicity and purity. Even as Romania transforms at a frantic pace, God keeps these places as they were, perhaps so we don't lose our identity entirely. We continue the journey with Dor in our hearts. This Romanian word cannot be translated; the experience explains what words cannot.
We are awaited by a "Master of Words"—one of those people God transformed into bridges between past and present. We learn of legends and true stories of the free mountain people who kept their identity and freedom through every hardship. We hear of ancient forests and haunted houses, and we realize that imagining them is not enough. We walk among trees that have stood for centuries. We learn that what we feel can be more real than what we see.
The perfect journey is hard to create, but intuition tells me we must look for more than a photograph or a "check-in" on social media. The vastness of the wilderness brings connection, silence, and peace. Standing before a wild animal, you feel small in the face of its strength, yet you feel great realizing the true nature of Man as the King of Creation. As Orison Swett Marden wrote in 1910: "Nothing should seem too beautiful, too good, too great, or too high for man." These ancient forests and living traditions are our connections to the beautiful, the enduring, and to eternity itself.
(A Corner of Heaven)
"My own life journey took me and my pack from the wild trails of Romania to the massive glaciers of Iceland—and finally back home, where it all started.
For five years, I worked as a glacier guide on Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe. I lived and guided in extreme yet breathtakingly beautiful conditions. I crossed endless ice caps on snowmobiles and drove super jeeps through Polar blizzards. I witnessed volcanic eruptions, explored hidden ice caves, and stood face-to-face with the rawest elements of the Earth.
But the greatest discovery of my journey wasn't the ice or the fire; it was the people. Guiding travelers from every corner of the world, I realized how beautiful it is that we are all different, yet so deeply identical when we stand before the grandeur of nature. In those moments, away from cultural stereotypes, masks, and fears, people truly open their souls. You get to know human nature in its purest, most genuine form—where you give everything from the heart, and they receive it with the same depth.
My loyal Akita pack stood by me through it all, teaching me the ultimate meaning of freedom and devotion. Now, I am back in Bucovina, at my original 'Corner of Heaven' (Pe o Gură de Rai). Every extreme trail I conquered, every soul I met, and every lesson I learned in the Far North has prepared me to guide your life journey today."
A story of survival, resilience, and instinct. When a tragic avalanche struck these mountains, catching our dear friends unprepared, it was Hiro—a pup born from my first Akita, Suki—who showed his incredible resilience.
While Lucian, the only human survivor, fought for hours to be able to call for help, Hiro dug his own way through 1.5 meters of compacted snow. Once free, he stayed on the mountain and later led the rescue team back to the site. This legendary spirit of endurance and deep devotion is the very anchor of Dacwulf.
"Recently, Hiro—our hero dog—has joined the pack in heaven, reuniting with his forever human friends, Sorin and Nathy. They lived fiercely, loved deeply, and explored these mountains with a passion that will never be forgotten. This collection of moments is dedicated to their eternal bond. Run free, beautiful souls."
Discover the ancient threads that connect Dacia to Scandinavia. The tales of Beowulf and the "Bridge-People" resonate through the valleys of the Carpathians. You are not a stranger here; you are rediscovering your own ancient European roots.
The ancestral and the ancient awaken our true nature. We feel a deep need to discover the hidden threads that connect what once was to who we are today. While not widely known, the links between Scandinavia and the Carpatho-Danubian-Pontic space are ancient, documented, and profound. This is not a matter of mere linguistic coincidence, but of recorded history:
Even as the modern world transforms at a frantic pace, these ancient echoes remain trapped in our landscapes and our DNA.
Transformative expeditions, not just tours.
